Faster code. Fewer defects. Happier developers. And yet the product still took just as long to reach customers.
That contradiction is at the heart of my talk at Agile Slovenia: "Faster Developers, Same Long Wait – Making Flow Visible to Show Where AI Actually Helps."
Turns out, coding was never the whole story. The real delays were hiding in reviews, handoffs, and approvals — invisible until we mapped them with Kanban. Once leadership could see where work actually got stuck, the conversation shifted from "how fast can developers go" to "where is the system slowing down."
The most interesting part? The fix wasn't more AI for developers — it was AI aimed at the bottlenecks nobody was watching.
